Strategic Conservation of Priority Salmon Habitat in Southcentral Alaska – Phase 4

Synopsis:This project will result in the permanent conservation of 500 acres or more of important salmon habitat in Southcentral Alaska. Using its Geographic Information System (GIS) based prioritizations, Great Land Trust (GLT) will identify high value salmon habitat and work with willing landowners to develop conservation easements or acquire fee-simple title to critical spawning, rearing, and migration habitat for Chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha), coho (O. kisutch), sockeye (O. nerka), chum (O. keta), and pink salmon (O. gorbuscha) populations.
